L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has received an initial delivery order from the U.S. Army for single-channel compact team radios designed to help soldiers exchange tactical data via an integrated military communications network.
The company said it will provide 1,000 Falcon IV AN/PRC-171 devices to the service branch to support voice and data exchange among users on the battlefield.
The handheld system is built to operate for more than 20 hours continuously with one battery and is interoperable with other company-made products such as the Enhanced Night Vision—Binocular technology.
Bryant Henson, president for L3Harris’ tactical communications business, said the Army will deploy the compact team radio along with the HMS Manpack and Leader Radio devices to squad members.
