L3Harris Awarded $379M Navy Contract for CEC Sensor Netting System Production, Repair

L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has won a potential six-year, $378.9 million contract to equip the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Foreign Military Sales customers with a real-time sensor netting system for integrated fire control and situational awareness.

Aside from producing the Cooperative Engagement Capability system, the contractor will also provide repair services under the Navy award, the Department of Defense said Monday.

CEC works to enable Navy ships and aircraft and Marine Corps land units to share sensor data on target measurements to create an air defense network and increase anti-missile and aircraft capability.

Under the initial award amounting to $14.9 million, L3Harris will conduct work in Florida, Pennsylvania and Utah until November 2023. It could extend to November 2028 if options are exercised.

Navy funds for fiscal year 2017 through 2022 will be obligated at time of award to cover some of the contract amounts.

The Naval Sea Systems Command awarded the fixed-price incentive, firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-plus-award-fee and cost reimbursement contract following a competitive procurement effort via Sam.gov.
