L3 Technologies (NYSE: LLL) has won a potential five-year, $454M contract to build, deliver and support an electro-optic infrared laser designator payload for the U.S. Army™s RQ-7Bv2 tactical unmanned air system.
The Army Contracting Command received two bids for the project via the internet, the Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday.
Work under the EO/IR/LD payload contract encompasses program management, production, system engineering, integration, test, evaluation and logistical support services, according to a FedBizOpps summary.
L3 will develop the technology to help the Army manage battlespace situational awareness, increase TUAS survivability and obtain imagery for target or threat detection.
The company will perform contract work through Aug. 28, 2023, and will receive funds with each order.
