Steve Fendley
Steve Fendley, formerly senior vice president, general manager and chief technology officer of the composite engineering business within Kratos‘ (Nasdaq: KTOS) unmanned systems division, will assume the role of corporate SVP and president of KUSD.
The company said Tuesday Fendley will be in charge of programs on tactical unmanned combat aerial systems, unmanned aerial target drones, unmanned ground and seaborne systems, avionics, electronics and command and control.
Kratos President and CEO Eric DeMarco noted Fendley’s contribution to the company’s UCAS efforts such as the Unmanned Tactical Aerial Platform-22 flights for the Defense Department in 2016.
Fendley’s promotion comes as former KUSD President Jerry Beaman retires and takes up a consulting role to support the transition and the KUSD business.
Kratos added the new KUSD leader will work with Dennis FitzPatrick, a retired U.S. Navy officer and current vice president of tactical platforms operations at the company.
Fendley was appointed to his previous role at Kratos’ Composite Engineering Inc.in March 2016.
He has also worked at 5-D Systems, where he is currently executive chairman, as well as Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), BAE Systems, Westinghouse and Tracor.
