Boeing Subsidiary Aurora, Kratos Join $400M USAF Aerospace Tech R&D Program

The U.S. Air Force has added Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (Nasdaq: KTOS) and Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) Aurora Flight Sciences subsidiary as awardees on a $400 million contract for aerospace system research and development services.

Fifteen bids were submitted to the Air Force Research Laboratory for the Advanced Aerospace Systems Technology Research initiative, according to award notices posted on the Department of Defense’s website.

Seven companies will now perform tasks under the seven-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to develop, demonstrate, integrate and transition new aerospace platforms for the Department of the Air Force.

The service branch previously announced Boeing, Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX), General Atomics, Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) as awardees for the project.

Each contractor will carry out work at their respective facilities, unless a task order indicates otherwise.
