Air Force Vet Kim Crider Named Board Member at Virgin Orbit’s National Security Arm

Kim Crider, a retired U.S. Air Force major general, has joined the board of directors at Virgin Orbit‘s (Nasdaq: VORB) national security-focused subsidiary.

She joins two other USAF veterans on the board of Virgin Orbit National Systems, the small satellite launch provider said Thursday.

Her 35-year military career included roles as chief technology innovation officer at the U.S. Space Force and as chief data officer at USAF.

Earlier this year, Crider assumed the position of lead artificial intelligence innovation for national security efforts within Deloitte’s government and public services practice.

“She’s a recognized subject matter expert and thought leader across military and commercial space, cyber and data security services,” said Mark Baird, president of Virgin Orbit National Systems.

Baird added that Crider will aim to help the company position itself to serve as a mission partner for national security organizations.
