Kevin Graney, president of General Dynamics™ (NYSE: GD) NASSCO business since 2017, will become president of the Reston, Va.-based aerospace and defense contractor™s Electric Boat subsidiary starting Oct. 1. Graney will succeed the retiring Jeffrey Geiger, a 35-year company executive who has served as General Dynamics Electric Boat president since 2013, the company said Friday.
œKevin Graney™s leadership, nuclear propulsion expertise and proven track record with submarine and surface shipbuilding will be essential to Electric Boat as it expands operations to build both the Columbia-class ballistic missile submarine and the next generation of Virginia-class attack submarines, said Robert Smith, executive vice president for General Dynamics™ marine systems business.
Graney joined General Dynamics Electric Boat as a senior engineer for the Virginia-class submarine program in 1995 and since then has held several leadership positions at NASSCO, including VP of engineering and VP of operations. David Carver, VP and general manager of repair at General Dynamics NASSCO, will succeed Graney as head of the business.
