The government services business of KBR (NYSE: KBR) has secured a 60-month, $69.3 million contract to help the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division engineer and maintain a U.S. Navy datalink system.
KBRwyle will provide full life cycle support for the Light Airborne Multipurpose System MK III Datalink the service branch uses to transmit command and control, radar and acoustic data between H-60 Seahawk helicopters and naval ships, the company said Monday.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers LAMPS datalink in-service engineering, logistics, repair, systems integration, technical management, test, evaluation and lab maintenance support work.
KBRwyle will also help NAWCAD to install the Ku-band link on the service branch’s LAMPS-equipped fleet to increase data transfer speed.
Work will take place in St. Inigoes, Maryland, as well as at various shore and ship sites.
