KBR's Govt Arm Secures $133M Army Patriot Missile System Support Order

The U.S. Army has awarded KBR‘s (NYSE: KBR) government services business a potential $133 million task order to support engineering and technical analysis of the Patriot missile defense system and adjunct systems.

KBRwyle will help the service branch implement engineering changes, modification retrofits and technical upgrades as well as conduct reliability, availability and maintainability improvement efforts and develop training programs for U.S. and international Patriot customers, the company said Monday.

The task order was awarded under the Expedited Professional and Engineering Support Services contract vehicle and contains five base years along with a six-month option.

Byron Bright, president of KBRwyle, said the business has supported the missile system over the past four decades and will collaborate with the Army in efforts to increase the weapon’s ability to defend against threats.

Patriot is designed to help ground combat forces neutralize unmanned systems, short and medium-range tactical weapons, fixed and rotary-wing aircraft and other air-breathing threats.

KBRwyle also supports other military air and missile defense platforms such as the Cruise Missile Defense System; Counter-Rockets, Artillery and Mortar System and the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense System.
