KBR Wyle Services Secures $3.6B NASA Human Health Contract

NASA has awarded KBR Wyle Services a potential 10-year, $3.6 billion contract to support the Johnson Space Center’s Human Health and Performance Directorate, which performs research to determine how to mitigate astronaut health risks for future human spaceflight missions.

The follow-on indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Human Health and Performance Contract 2 has an initial five-year performance period, which will begin on Nov.1, with options to extend work through 2035, NASA said Monday.

KBR Contract Scope

With Leidos as a subcontractor, KBR will support several programs, including the Human Research Program, the International Space Station Program, the Commercial Crew Program and the Artemis campaign, by ensuring crew health, safety and performance; providing occupational health services; and conducting research into mitigating risks to the health, safety and performance of future spaceflight crews.

The Human Health and Performance Directorate’s vision focuses on humans living, working and thriving in space, including on the moon and Mars. Its mission is to lead the global spaceflight community in protecting astronaut health and enabling human mission performance.
