KBR (NYSE: KBR) has received a $156.7 million task order to update the U.S. Army’s fleet of UH-60V Black Hawk helicopters.
The company said Monday it will work with Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) to come up with recommendations and technical platforms for the utility helicopter project office at the Army’s program executive office aviation and international partners to enhance the reliability and availability of the aircraft.
Planned UH-60V upgrades under the task order awarded through the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center multiple-award contract include avionics architecture, fuel system, flight controls, airframe, electrical system, drive train and a new rotor system. Northrop supplies the integrated avionics suite for the utility military helicopter.
Work will include reliability, maintainability, quality, supportability and interoperability or RMQSI, program management, logistics and testing, prototyping, sustainability improvement and lifecycle analyses and is expected to be carried out over a five-year period in Huntsville, Alabama.
