A business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has secured a potential five-year, $276.5M contract to extend its support work on a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services system used to manage benefits and payments for a federal health insurance program.
General Dynamics Information Technology will support Medicare customer service, electronic data exchange, debt transaction processing and digital imaging functions of the Benefits Coordination & Recovery Center, the company said Friday.
œWe are excited to continue our work with CMS and provide innovative ways to safeguard the Medicare trust fund for future generations, said Kamal Narang, vice president of the health sector at GDIT.
The company has supported Coordination of Benefits and Recovery programs at CMS since 1991 and helped the agency save more than $8.5B during 2017 through coordination of trust fund pre-payment benefits as well as recover post-payment funds.
The single-award contract has one base year and four option years.
