The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory has received a $515 million contract modification to continue providing the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency with research, development and engineering services.
The award brings the total cumulative value of the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to $740 million and includes task orders that can extend work until November 2027, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Work will occur at Johns Hopkins APL’s facility in Laurel, Maryland.
DARPA awarded the university-affiliated research center a $225 million sole-source contract in November 2021 to help DARPA carry out engineering or developmental work to turn scientific and technical theories and investigative findings into practical applications.
Johns Hopkins APL is expected to complete work under the initial award in November 2026.
