John Mulholland, vice president and program manager for the CST-100 Starliner program at Boeing (NYSE: BA), has been named VP and program manager for the International Space Station in a move that will take effect June 26, GeekWire reported Friday.
He will succeed Mark Mulqueen, who is due to retire on July 2 after a 35-year career at Boeing.
Mulholland has been overseeing the design and development of the Starliner program since 2011. He previously served as VP and program manager for the company’s part of the Space Shuttle program.
John Vollmer, former chief engineer on the ISS program, will replace Mulholland as VP and program manager for the Starliner program.
Vollmer has over three decades of experience on the ISS program. He served as a member of the station redesign team and launch package manager for the orbiting laboratory’s first U.S. element, which is now known as the Unity code.
