John Martinez, former vice president and general counsel at General Electric‘s aerospace business (NYSE: GE), has joined Maximus (NYSE: MMS) to serve as general counsel.
He was appointed to assume the responsibilities of David Francis, who announced plans to retire at the end of this year, Maximus said Monday.

He also became deputy general counsel at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence before transitioning to the then intelligence and space business of Raytheon, now RTX (NYSE: RTX), where he served in various roles for more than a decade.
Commenting on the appointment, Maximus President and CEO Bruce Caswell underscored Martinez’s legal and governance expertise.
“His steady leadership and deep commitment to moving people forward will further strengthen our leadership team and the impact Maximus has on the lives of millions of Americans,” added Caswell, a four-time Wash100 awardee.
