The information technology systems integrator said Thursday Lau will spearhead the delivery of its data, artificial intelligence, cloud, cybersecurity and digital services portfolio across the Department of Defense and Combatant Commands.
John Lau’s Industry and Government Career
Before joining the ASGN business, Lau worked at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for over 12 years. He most recently served as the senior strategy IT operations adviser of the Office of Deputy Chief Information Officer, where he was responsible for managing USPTO’s enterprise investments and advancing its mission.
Lau held other leadership positions at USPTO, including deputy director of the office of enterprise infrastructure delivery, engineering and operations, where he supervised the enterprise cloud enclave. He was also the director of enterprise software services, acting chief of communication services and senior operations manager for enterprise services.
The ECS executive also served as a senior adviser and acting chief technology officer at the Department of Commerce. Before that, he was a career coach for presidential management fellows at the Office of Personnel Management. Lau started his career in 2005 as a senior consultant for service-level management at Keynote Systems.
