John Heneghan, former chief operating officer of ECS, has assumed the position of president at the Fairfax, Virginia-based government information technology contractor.
ECS’ parent company ASGN Inc. (NYSE: ASGN) first announced Heneghan’s promotion in late October as part of a planned succession for George Wilson, who formally retired at the close of 2021.
ASGN said Monday that Wilson, a four-time Wash100 Award winner, will remain with the segment for the next three months in an advisory role to help complete the transition process.
In the same announcement, ASGN said Apex Systems President Rand Blazer was promoted to lead the professional services company in a series of executive appointments that took effect Monday.
The company added that its board of directors approved a plan to buy back up to $350 million of common stock under a two-year stock repurchase program.
