Who Is John Basso?
Basso is an industry veteran with over 30 years of leadership experience and expertise in aligning risk management, strategy, performance, budget and data to drive stronger decision-making, governance and program outcomes.
Before joining SAIC, Basso spent over six years at Deloitte as managing director and senior manager. He served nearly four years at the Department of Veterans Affairs as deputy assistant secretary of planning and performance management, chief risk officer and director of strategic foresight and risk management.
Basso was director of organizational improvement at Abrams Learning and Information Systems and director of the leadership development program at the University of Kansas. Earlier in his career, he was a squadron and brigade operations officer in the U.S. Army and an assistant professor and economic development officer at the U.S. Military Academy. He held various leadership positions in the Army, including human resources officer and leader of tank, reconnaissance and support companies.
