Jim Moos
James “Jim” Moos, formerly chief operating officer and deputy president of Leidos’ (NYSE: LDOS) civil group, has been appointed president of the civil group.
He will report to Roger Krone, chairman and CEO of Leidos and a 2020 Wash100 award winner, and oversee technology development, thought leadership, growth initiatives and other civil group-related activities, the company said Monday.
Moos took over as acting civil group president in October after Angela Heise stepped down from the role.
"Jim has demonstrated over time his commitment to the Leidos team, and his expertise in the Civil Group markets, developing and implementing strategies that drive our business and generate growth," Krone said.
Moos most recently led efforts with regard to Leidos’ move to sign a potential $1B cash deal to acquire the security detection and automation businesses of L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX).
He has held leadership and technical roles at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC). He worked on projects related to the dismantlement of nuclear fuel facilities during his time at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Morrison Knudsen. He is also a U.S. Navy veteran who previously worked on the service’s nuclear power program.
Leidos’ $3.7B civil business has approximately 9.6K employees and provides technology platforms, science and engineering support to federal and commercial customers in information technology, cyber, security, energy, transportation, space and financial markets.
