Jim Garrettson, president and chief executive officer of Executive Mosaic, a leading media and events hosting company in the government contracting market, on April 18th presented Jason Providakes, president and CEO of the MITRE Corporation, with his 2018 Wash 100 award.
The Wash100, now in its fifth annual year, recognizes the most influential and impactful executives in the GovCon industry, as selected by Executive Mosaic’s organizational and editorial leadership. Representing the best of the private and public sector, these individuals demonstrate superior leadership, innovation, reliability, achievement and vision.
Executive Mosaic recognized Dr. Providakes, a driving force in systems engineering and applied sciences, for his leadership in modernizing federal information technology infrastructure. His organization’s clients include the Department of Defense, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Treasury Department and Veterans Affairs.
Dr. Providakes joined the non-profit MITRE Corp. as a lead scientist in 1991 and went on to hold various senior leadership positions, culminating in him being named president and CEO last year. Previous roles with the company include: chief engineer of the Washington Command, Control and Communications Center; executive director of the U.S. Army Systems & Technology Division, where he spearheaded battlefield digitization; and senior vice president and general manager for the Center for Connected Government.
