Jennifer Garrison Appointed Federal Health VP at Maximus

Jennifer Garrison, a 24-year veteran of the healthcare sector, shared on LinkedIn Tuesday that she has been named vice president of federal health at Maximus.

Career Highlights

Garrison was elevated to her new senior executive role at Maximus after just 7 months as senior program manager for federal health. In this role, she was responsible for monitoring performance, mentoring and providing professional development guidance to the business segment’s operational leaders. Her other responsibilities included overseeing all project administrative operations and implementing strategies for meeting program objectives and operational and performance goals.

Before Maximus, Garrison worked at Johnson & Johnson for over two years as director of various divisions. She was also an assistant director of staff at the Defense Health Agency, where she managed 11 health system divisions with 425 employees. She was also the deputy assistant director of operational medicine, and deputy chief and deputy assistant director of the combatant command operational support.

Garrison served in the U.S. Air Force for over 18 years, most recently as the CEO and commander of the 332 Expeditionary Medical Group. In this position, she oversaw 45 medics, nine medical departments and three group clinical support units. She also led the establishment of the Air Force’s first Health Expeditionary Assessment Resiliency Team, or HEART, Clinic. Other positions Garrison held during her Air Force tenure include chief of the Medical Readiness Division, chief operating officer and commander of the 355th Medical Support Squadron, COO of the 20th Medical Group, chief of the base support and exercise & training branch, resource management flight commander and wing protocol officer.
