Kratz previously served as the company’s GM and regional head of public sector partner sales in Latin America, Canada and the Caribbean, and will now succeed Sandy Carter, who is stepping down from her post as vice president of global public sector partners and programs at AWS.
In his new role, Kratz envisions a simplified public sector partner business at AWS, accelerated value offerings to partners and continued growth.
“Government and public sector are complicated in many geographies—whether that’s emerging markets to G20 countries—for our partners. How do we continue to simplify the partner engagement that we’ve got—both what we ask partners to do, what they do, how they engage with us in the field,” Kratz told CRN.
He was with Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) for two decades before he joined AWS in 2012.
Carter, on the other hand, is assuming a new post at an unnamed startup. Under her leadership, AWS’ public sector program recorded over 2,100 partners and experienced a 45 percent growth from 2020 to 2021.
