James Kainz Promoted to Applied Research Associates BD SVP

James Kainz, corporate director of business development at Applied Research Associates, has transitioned to a senior vice president role at the Albuquerque, New Mexico-based research, engineering and technical services provider.

He is responsible for planning and implementing the company’s current and future growth strategy and pursuing strategic opportunities, ARA said Wednesday. 

In his new capacity, Kainz is also tasked with overseeing a team of customer portfolio managers.

The two-decade ARA veteran previously served as VP of corporate development and played a key role in boosting the company’s branding and social media presence.

Rob Sues, CEO of ARA, credited Kainz with driving the company’s capture efforts over the past two years.

Kainz previously managed research and development projects in software development, conventional and nuclear weapons effects and modeling and simulation.
