O3b Networks has appointed Jack Deasy, a former Federal Communications Commission bureau manager and Latin American telecommunications specialist, as its vice president for the government solutions business.
He will lead O3b’s initial technology implementations at government and humanitarian agencies, as well as its local and international government sales and business development pursuits, O3b said Thursday.
“He has consistently brought a clear understanding of government customer technical and procurement needs, ” said Charles Hannaford, chief commercial officer for O3b.
Deasy has worked with O3b since 2013 and has helped develop relationships with government, intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations and address their satellite broadband needs.
He also previously led Inmarsat‘s aeronautical, unmanned aerial vehicle, public safety and disaster response business development activities.
