Intelligence Community Vet Sue Gordon Joins Mitre’s Board of Trustees; Jason Providakes Quoted

Sue Gordon, former principal deputy director of national intelligence and a two-time Wash100 awardee, has been elected to serve on Mitre’s board of trustees.

Jason Providakes, president and CEO of Mitre and a 2022 Wash100 Award winner, said in a statement published Thursday Gordon’s expertise will help the nonprofit research company pursue innovation and integration across the intelligence community and advance a whole-of-nation approach to national security.

“I look forward to her insights and leadership as MITRE expands our national security efforts to include the security of our economy and industrial base, our borders and climate, critical U.S. research and development investments, and the national airspace from ground to space,” added Providakes.

Prior to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Gordon served as deputy director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and spent nearly three decades at the CIA, where she held senior leadership positions and led the formation of the agency’s venture arm In-Q-Tel.

She is a fellow at Harvard and Duke Universities and sits on the boards of several companies, including CACI International (NYSE: CACI), BlackSky (NYSE: BKSY) and Avantus Federal. She is a senior adviser for ColdQuanta, Pallas Advisors, Primer, Rebellion Defense and the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation. She also takes part in government advisory boards on intelligence and national security and provides consulting support to Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and other companies.
