Corelight has appointed 33-year intelligence community veteran Jean Schaffer as chief technology officer of the San Francisco-based company’s federal unit.
Schaffer has provided advisory services to Corelight since 2020 and joined the cybersecurity technology provider on a full-time basis to lead its data-focused approach to help federal customers secure networks, the company said Tuesday.
She concurrently served as chief information security officer and chief of enterprise operations and cybersecurity at the the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Previously, she held various senior executive positions during her three-decade career at the National Security Agency and helped the agency implement insider threat detection platforms.
“I am excited to share my knowledge of the requirements and needs of the federal government, particularly in the defense and intelligence sectors, and to create true partnerships between federal cyber defenders which will help Corelight to further shape its product offerings,” Schaffer said.
