Cloud enterprise software provider IFS has acquired EmpowerMX for an undisclosed sum as part of a push to expand its industrial artificial intelligence capabilities and aviation maintenance software offerings for aerospace and defense customers.
IFS said Wednesday EmpowerMX is a Frisco, Texas-based provider of AI-powered aviation maintenance software with a focus on delivering airframe maintenance repair and overhaul platforms to customers.
“Combining EmpowerMX with IFS is a perfect opportunity to proactively advance our leadership position in the aviation MRO software space due to the many synergies we have: an aligned technology vision, deep sector expertise and a shared commitment to customer value,” said Scott Helmer, president of aerospace and defense business unit at IFS.
“Together, we not only expand our reach and foothold into the burgeoning MRO space, but we can also better serve a wider base of global A&D customers with the Industrial AI-fueled MRO innovation that enhances security, safety and efficiency,” added Helmer.
The company’s industrial AI technology, IFS.ai, is designed to help aerospace and defense industry customers maximize asset availability by enabling them to analyze large volumes of data to quickly detect anomalies and optimize maintenance scheduling.
