IBM (NYSE: IBM) has announced plans to buy Massachusetts-based incident response platforms provider Resilient Systems for an undisclosed sum in an effort to boost its incident response and security operations.
IBM said Monday it plans to integrate Resilient Systems™ incident response tool with its security platforms such as IBM X-Force Exchange database, Big Fix and IBM QRadar Security Intelligence Platform.
The Resilient Systems-built incident response offering works to provide compliance actions and playbooks meant to respond to malware, data loss and distributed denial-of-service attacks.
IBM expects the transaction to be completed later this year, pending regulatory reviews.
The company has also rolled out the X-Force Incident Response Services in an effort to help clients detect and respond to data breaches and other forms of cyber attacks.
Under this program, more than 3, 000 IBM security experts worldwide will offer managed security support and consulting services to help clients craft strategies that seek to detect network vulnerabilities and manage cyber attacks through the cloud.
