Hydroid has secured a potential five-year, $84 million contract to provide the U.S. Navy with engineering and training support associated to a certain series of unmanned underwater vehicle systems.
The company will support the MK 18 family of systems under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a base value of $15.8 million, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Work will take place in Pocasset, Mass., through August 2020 and may continue for an additional four years if the Navy exercises all options. The service branch’s Naval Surface Warfare Center awarded the contract on a sole-source basis.
