The aeronautics segment of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a one-year, $1.9B contract from Naval Air Systems Command to provide logistics services for F-35 air systems that have been delivered to U.S. and international defense customers.
Recurring work covers ground maintenance, system operations, depot activation and supply chain management services to fighter aircraft components for the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, non-Department of Defense customers and foreign military sales participants, the Pentagon said Tuesday.
The company will also train pilots and maintenance personnel under the firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee contract.
NAVAIR will obligate $1.01B in fiscal 2020 funds from U.S. military, non-DoD and FMS accounts.
Sixty-one percent of contract work will take place in Fort Worth, Texas, and the rest at various locations in Florida, South Carolina, California and the U.K.
