Carmen Krueger, senior vice president of cloud operations at SAP (NYSE: SAP) National Security Services, has said federal agencies should consider agility as one of the key factors when it comes to the development of a strategy for cloud deployment.
Krueger wrote that there are three areas in which a cloud platform can help agencies become more agile and one of them is through the adoption of the DevOps concept in the cloud delivery model.
DevOps works to help teams in various places to collaborate, allowing them to œtest new applications and practice the notion of ˜test fast, fail fast, adjust fast™ in ways that were previously impossible or cost-prohibitive, she said.
Krueger also noted that agencies should adopt hybrid cloud environments and public-private partnerships to facilitate the development of novel information technology systems as well as implement an œincremental approach to business process transformation.
œAgencies need to find new ways to address change management, new policies, and must continually assess the risk posture of the cloud against the agency™s proposed cloud use case, she added.
