Karey Malyszko, formerly the director of radiological controls at Huntington Ingalls Industries‘ (NYSE: HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division, has been promoted to vice president of the unit’s plant operations.
She replaced Dru Branche, who retired from HII in December, and will manage waterfront support services, facilities, security and environmental health and safety initiatives, HII said Tuesday.
Malyszko joined the Newport News business in 2004 and, since then, has gained 18 years of experience in shipyard radiological and nuclear engineering functions.
Her shipbuilding industry career included work as a structural engineer for the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and management responsibility for nuclear propulsion projects.
She will report directly to Newport News Shipbuilding President Jennifer Boykin.
