Huntington Ingalls Industries‘ (NYSE: HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division has won a potential $724.3 million contract to provide planning yard support for the U.S. Navy’s USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) amphibious command ship, USS San Antonio (LPD 17) amphibious transport dock ships and other naval platforms for transport and dock landing.
The Department of Defense said Friday the hybrid cost-plus-award-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract has a base value of $302.6 million and covers services for LHD 1/LHA 6 amphibious assault ships and LSD 41/49 dock landing ships.
Ingalls Shipbuilding will conduct work in Pascagoula, Mississippi through May 2028 and provide on-site technical support in Mayport, Florida; Norfolk, Virginia; San Diego, California; and Sasebo, Japan, as needed.
The service branch will obligate $4.2 million from fiscal 2021 operation and maintenance allocation and approximately $734,000 from other procurement funds at the time of award.
Naval Sea Systems Command, which serves as the contracting activity, held a competitive procurement for the contract and received two bids.
