GSA said Tuesday the contractor will perform design-build services for the San Luis I Land Port of Entry project under the initial contract that the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law partially funded to allow for a single construction phase.
The project includes increasing the number of processing lanes for pedestrian and northbound vehicles to cut screening times and adding fixed inspection infrastructure to southbound facilities. It is aimed at further supporting the Customs and Border Protection’s San Luis I LPOE operations.
Hensel Phelps is anticipated to start construction by May 2024 as the team works to finalize the design following the completion of the National Environmental Process Act processes.
