Hardware and software engineering company Global Technical Systems has received a potential $83.7M contract modification to help the U.S. Navy sustain combat system processors.
The service branch exercised options under the potential five-year, $116.4M Common Processing System support contract awarded in July, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Under the modification, GTS will produce and install ordnance alteration kits to update the configuration of weapons systems and equipment on various Navy ships as well as Japan’s destroyer vessels.
The company will also provide logistics support, engineering services and materials associated with the ORDALT kits to support CPS sustainment activities.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center will obligate $1.5M in fiscal 2014 Navy shipbuilding and conversion funds at the time of award.
Twenty-one percent of contract work will occur in Norfolk, Va., and the rest in various U.S. and international locations through July 2024.
