GSA to Exercise 5-Year Option on Alliant 2 IT Contract Vehicle; Sonny Hashmi Quoted

The General Services Administration is set to exercise the five-year option term for the Alliant 2 governmentwide acquisition contract to provide federal buyers continued access to information technology platforms and services from industry.

Agencies will continue to gain access to cybersecurity capabilities and other services from a pool of vetted vendors to support IT modernization efforts, GSA said Thursday.

“Exercising the Alliant 2 option provides agencies with a flexible, streamlined, and agile procurement vehicle that keeps pace with rapidly evolving technology trends and has a proven track record of delivering results,” said Sonny Hashmi, commissioner of GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service and a previous Wash100 Award winner.

Alliant 2 is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract offering artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software development, cybersecurity, data analytics and related IT services to federal agencies. The contract vehicle also provides subcontracting opportunities for small businesses.

In August 2022, GSA raised the ceiling value of Alliant 2 by an additional $25 billion, bringing the vehicle’s total amount to $75 billion.
