The General Services Administration has awarded 70 companies spots on a 10-year, $5 billion governmentwide acquisition contract for information technology support services.
GSA said in a FedBizOpps award notice posted Thursday 187 bids were submitted for the Veterans Technology Services 2 contract vehicle through a request for proposals issued in April 2016.
VETS 2 is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that has a five-year base period and five option years and is a set-aside program for service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses.
Contractors will compete for task orders in seven areas that include data management, IT security, software development, information and communications technology, IT operations and maintenance, emerging technologies and systems design.
GSA said in a 2016 presolicitation notice it could award task orders in the form of fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, labor-hour and time-and-materials.
