Gregory Kausner, formerly an executive director at the Department of Defense, has been appointed to lead the global defense business at Anduril Industries.
The government service veteran will be responsible for driving Anduril’s growth initiatives and introducing its technology to potential partners in the international defense market, the company said Monday.
His DOD career included roles as executive director of international cooperation at the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, acting undersecretary and deputy undersecretary duties in the same office, and deputy director at the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
He also worked at the State Department as senior adviser to the undersecretary for arms control and international security and as deputy assistant secretary for political military affairs.
Kausner served in the U.S. Navy as an aviator and represented the service branch as its Senate liaison on Capitol Hill.
“Throughout my career, it became increasingly apparent that today’s security challenges demand new technology and a new approach,” Kausner said. “I’m excited to bring those innovations to our closest allies and partners across the world.”
He received several awards during his government career such as the Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service, the Secretary of State’s Award for Excellence in International Security Affairs and the Air Medal.
