George Mason University has won a potential five-year, $320.7M contract from the U.S. Air Force to develop and demonstrate software and hardware under the Mobile Unmanned/Manned Distributed Lethality Airborne Network program.
The Air Force Research Laboratory received two offers for the cost-type contract and will obligate $650K in research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Work under the MUDLAN Joint Capabilities Technology Demonstration program includes the development of digital beam forming multibeam common data link apertures, multifunctional network controller for linking multiple platforms during maneuver and directional W-band and K/Ku/eKU-band systems.
The university will perform work in Fairfax, Va., through March 6, 2025.
