General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) land systems business has received a three-year, $55.9 million firm-fixed-price contract from the U.S. Army for the procurement of armored heavy platform vehicles.
The Department of Defense said Friday the Armored Ground Mobility System acquisition contract requires General Dynamics Land Systems to perform work in Vienna, Austria, until June 23, 2025.
At the time of the award, Army Contracting Command obligated $53.1 million in fiscal 2022 procurement, defense-wide funds to the General Dynamics subsidiary, which was the sole bidder during its online solicitation process.
AGMS is a variant of the Pandur armored personnel carrier. It is a custom-built 6×6 vehicle that features shielded weapons mount, electronic anti-improvised explosive device countermeasures and secure radio communications equipment. The 6-cylinder engine-powered platform is capable of transporting up to seven troops in addition to its driver and commander.
