General Dynamics’ (NYSE: GD) information technology business unit has received a potential five-year, $89 million contract to help operate and modernize the Indian Health Service’s electronic health record system that delivers patient care for American Indians and Alaska Natives.
Under the contract, General Dynamics Information Technology will provide project management, system deployment support, IT architecture and system engineering, security engineering and compliance support services for the Resource and Patient Management System, the company said Thursday.
The company will also support IHS’ data management and future EHR migration and modernization initiatives.
“The enhancements to RPMS will further support better patient health care and improve outcomes across tribal communities nationwide,” said Kamal Narang, vice president and general manager for federal health at GDIT.
The contract has a one-year base period of performance with four option years.
