General Dynamics, Northrop Win Spots on $3B Army Medium Caliber Cartridge Production Contract

A General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) business and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) have won positions on a potential five-year, $3.05 billion contract to provide medium caliber training cartridges for the U.S. Army.

Army Contracting Command received two bids for the cost-plus-fixed-fee, fixed-price contract through an online solicitation and will obligate funds and determine work locations upon award of each task order, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Contract work is expected to conclude on April 4, 2029.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems manufactures medium caliber ammunition, ranging from 20mm to 40mm ammo, for ground, air and maritime applications.

Northrop has over three decades of experience producing medium caliber ammo designed to help warfighters defend against and counter various targets on the battlefield.
