The U.S. Army has awarded General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) a pair of contracts worth $144.9M combined to provide configuration items for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical mission network and hardware.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday the company’s mission systems business will perform work under the two contracts in Taunton, Mass., through Aug. 31, 2020.
WIN-T is designed to help commanders and soldiers communicate in the battlefield using mobile devices.
The communications system allows military users transmit video, identify allies through a topographical map, request for medical assistance and artillery support and access mission command applications.
