General Dynamics Land Systems Wins $249M Army SMET Vehicle Development Contract

A General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) business unit has won a potential five-year, $249M contract to build a small multipurpose equipment transport vehicle for the U.S. Army.

Army Contracting Command received three bids for the cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract and General Dynamics Land Systems will perform work on the SMET program’s first increment through July 14, 2025, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

The service will obligate funds and determine work locations upon award of each task order.

The Army issued in February a solicitation for the SMET program, which seeks to build a ground-based robotic vehicle to transport warfighters' equipment.
