A General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) business unit has secured a five-year, $88.2 million contract to develop a cloud-based information technology platform for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency to find and transmit huge amounts of complex data from GEOINT sources.
The General Dynamics IT business will provide software development services to NGA’s Geospatial Intelligence Search and Retrieval program under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the company said Wednesday.
A portion of the project will occur at GDIT’s St. Louis geospatial innovation center, which opened in December 2021.
Kelly Ferrell, senior vice president for intelligence and homeland security at GDIT, said the company will build on its artificial intelligence and data analytics investments to support the agency’s geospatial initiatives.
The IDIQ award includes program management, system deployment, security compliance and system engineering support.
