General Dynamics Gets $171M Army Stryker Weapon System Simulator Contract

General Dynamics™ (NYSE: GD) land systems business unit has won a $170.7 million contract to produce a simulator for the Raytheon-built (NYSE: RTN) weapon system onboard Stryker vehicles.

The U.S. Army awarded the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract following an Internet-based solicitation and will determine the funding with each order, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

The tube-launched, optically-tracked, wireless-guided TOW missile serves as a long-range, heavy assault-precision weapon system designed to target armors and fortifications.

The missiles can be launched from the improved target acquisition systems, Stryker anti-tank guided missile vehicle and Bradley fighting vehicles.
