General Dynamics™ (NYSE: GD) Bath Iron Works subsidiary has received a potential one-year, $126 million contract extension from the U.S. Navy to continue to provide post-delivery modernization support for Arleigh Burke-class (DDG 51) destroyer ships.
The contract contains a six-month option and will run through December 2017, General Dynamics said Monday.
Bath Iron Works provides engineering, logistics, design, execution, material kitting and other planning yard services to the service branch™s 68 surface combat vessels that include Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and littoral combat ships.
The company provides planning yard services to DDG 51 ships in Maine, Virginia, Florida, California, Washington, Hawaii, Japan and Spain.
