General Dynamics™ (NYSE: GD) information technology business unit has been awarded a potential five-year, $75 million contract to supply and maintain software for a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services equipment management initiative.
CMS will use the software to process claims submitted by suppliers for the Durable Medical Equipment program, General Dynamics said Wednesday.
“We are committed to CMS and to supporting its efforts to ensure that Medicare beneficiaries receive the highest quality of care, ” said Marcus Collier, senior vice president of the IT unit’s health and civilian solutions division at General Dynamics.
The unit will perform work in Towson, Maryland.
General Dynamics developed the first version of software for the CMS DME program, which provides prosthetics and other medical supplies to Medicare beneficiaries.
