General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) missions systems business has secured a five-year, $250 million contract to modify, test and sustain a ground-based system the U.S. Army uses to obtain tactical signals intelligence.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday the company will also provide training services for the Prophet system under the hybrid cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract.
Prophet offers force protection, intelligence and situational awareness capacity for battlefield surveillance brigade and other brigade combat teams, according to General Dynamics.
The system is designed to integrate with multiple vehicle types to provide visibility on the operational environment and support manpack, mobile and stationary operations.
The Pentagon expects the company to finish contract work June 15, 2022.
