General Atomics has received a potential 10-year, $532.6 million contract modification to build, produce, test, inspect and facilitate the checkout process for the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System aboard the U.S. Navy™s CVN 80 aircraft carrier.
The modification exercises an option in a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract and covers installation work, repairs, drawing changes, technical data and checkout spares, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
The company will perform work in California, Minnesota, Mississippi, Ohio, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Nevada, New York, Texas, Michigan, Oregon and Germany through September 2027.
The Naval Air Systems Command will obligate $11 million from the service branch™s shipbuilding conversion funds for fiscal 2016 at the time of award.
